Project summary

The projects shown below are a sample of the assignments completed in various sectors. These have been carried out either by N-Consult directly, or working as an associate consultant. Full case studies for many of these are available on request.

 Health 

  • Liverpool Royal. Recent project acting as “Technical Client Advisor” for new build hospital. Responsible for output specification(s) for IM&T, coordination with early PFI and IM&T teams. Specifiy, tender and implement technologies including Clinical grade Wi-Fi, DAS, RTLS, Paging, TV/IPE, WayFinding, enterprise AV, Police Airwave, etc.  
  • Central Manchester & Manchester Children’s Hospital (CMMC). Client’s advisor role for large PFI project, structured cabling, telephony strategy, data networks. Ongoing consultancy for telephony improvement / expansion.
  • Queen Mary Hospital, Roehampton. Appointed by the PFI contractor to design and implement the IT infrastructure including telephone system, data networks and BT line provision. 
  • Haimyres Hospital. Design and specification / tender for telephone systems, structured cabling and data networks for new PFI development.
  • Leeds Oncology Unit. Detailed design of structured cabling and liaison with Trust for integration with existing systems.

Education

  • Langley Park School for Boys. ICT Strategy, detailed ICT infrastructure design, integrated telephony, data and wireless. Client team liaison for all building services over the single IT Network.Suffolk New College. Lead consultant for ICT infrastructure and telephony for relocation to new campus. Detailed IP Telephony specification, tender and implementation including strategy for UC components (full case study available on request). 
  • Carmel College. ICT Infrastructure design for new college campus, specification and tender including complex phasing strategy and telephony / data convergence.
  • University of Medway. Lead IT consultant for new Learning Resources centre. Works included structured cabling design & implementation, computer room design, lecture theatre AV specification and Wireless LAN.
  • Freebrough College. Full infrastructure design including telephone and data networks, structured cabling and ICT accommodation.
  • Kirklees SEN. Design and implementation of ICT infrastructure, telephone and data networks for multiple new school new build contract.

Commercial

  • Booking.com. ICT consultant for new development in Manchester. Technical advisor for integration of active systems into the new construction including equipment rooms, structured cabling, design team liaison.
  • T-Mobile. Lead IT project manager and coordination of all technology areas for substantial new office complex, including site infrastructure, data centre, structured cabling, telephony, data networks, audio visual systems, server provision, cell coverage, design of the new server room and full relocation assistance.
  • Independent Insurance. Responsible for complete design and implementation of new systems for the relocation from three offices into one singe complex, this included advanced audio visual systems, video conference roll-out, and computer room design. 
  • Anabas. IT Audit and strategy. New project for two office locations and numerous remote workers, current facilities study, user requirements analysis and strategic options report.
  • Passport Office relocation. Responsible for the specification of all IT infrastructure including intelligent patching (IIM) and the coordination of server and desktop implementation. 

Hospitality

  • Radisson SAS. Full IT project management of all FoH and BoH systems, specification, procurement and implementation including telephony, data, guest wireless, Interactive TV and integration.
  • ExCel. Replacement IT data equipment and expansion study. Assist ExCel with RFP process, including checking the documentation, identify appropriate IT contractors/system integrators, facilitate contractor discussions and interviews / presentations.
  • MEN Arena. Responsible for the complete IT infrastructure including telephony, data networks, F&B cabling and systems, external line provision. 
  • Liverpool Convention Centre. Initial works on the overall IT and AV infrastructure including OB TV connections, advanced audio visual systems and handover to BT consortium.
Airport
  • Manchester Airport T2. Lead consultant for the IT project, which covered telephone systems; data communications, Intercom, FIDS, CCTV, and the associated cable infrastructure for all technologies. 
  • Dublin Airport. Cabling and IT accommodation audit and reports. 

Financial & Data Centre

  • Select Data Centre. Consultancy and client relationships. Structured cabling design, tender and implementation.
  • Northern Trust Bank. Relocation project management from two sites to one larger office complex, works included infrastructure and telephony systems with dealing room facilities.
  • MDA. Assistance, research and specification for Unified Communications systems including messaging, presence awareness, IP-telephony, instant messaging, conferencing and collaboration. 

Retail

  • Selfridges. Work included; Wireless LAN and POS systems, data networks, telephone systems, access control and security systems, feasibility of integrating the CCTV telephone and IT communications into a single scheme.
  • Spinningfields. Telecommunications infrastructure, including detailed duct routes, duct management and implementation strategy for offices, retail, leisure and residential for approx 245,000 m².
Residential
  • Origin. Early ICT design for 180 Apartments, Offices and Hotel complex.
  • Ebbsfleet. Master planning for optical fibre-based community with the deployment of high-speed broadband, IP / HD TV, and intranet services.
  • London Bridge Tower (Shard). Early brief definition for tenants including Apartment Profile and Landlord provision.
